Goals check for the week of April 15

I'm a couple of days late again on reviewing the previous week.  Last week was an interesting week because of Tax Day -- I stayed up literally all night Sunday night working on taxes.  I had gotten very behind on tracking my freelance income and business expenses, so I had about 6 months' worth to catch up on.  I started on it the previous Thursday and got a little done, but there was just too much and I'd left it too late.

After being up all night, I went to bed about 8:30 Monday morning, knowing I'd only be able to sleep a few hours since I had my nanny job in the afternoon.  I tried getting up about 12:30, but I felt awful, so I went back to bed until 1:30.  That extra hour did the trick, and I was able to make it through my afternoon, but being up all night and sleeping half the day away made my day feel very discombobulated.

I had a few other distractions throughout the week, and as a result I didn't get a lot done.  I feel like I am back on track for this week, though, so next week's report should be better.

Without further ado:

1. Novels: I didn't really work on my novels last week, either writing or revising.  I did, however, continue reading Dracula, and finished it yesterday.  Not sure why it took me so long, except that I was so busy elsewhere.  I did try to get back to work on my novel on Friday, but didn't make any real progress except to re-familiarize myself with where I was in the manuscript when I last did any revisions -- where I'd gotten to before I took a break to research old vampire literature.

2. Blogs and websites: No progress here.

3. Other writing projects: No progress here.

4. Books: Les Miz is still waiting for me to pick it back up.  Now that I've finished Dracula, I am finishing the book club book I interrupted to pursue my vampire fiction binge, and then I will go on to finish Les Miz.

5. Horses: Panama actually saw the most action last week.  A big snowstorm Wednesday night ended up in my Thursday morning lesson being canceled, so Rondo didn't get ridden all week.  V.'s lesson on Panama Thursday afternoon was kept, though, because -- being spring in Colorado -- the snow was mostly melted by then.  Then I rode Pan Friday morning to work on some of what V. was struggling with on Thursday (her issues, not his, but I wanted him to experience it being done right).  V. rode again on Sunday (and worked on all of the same stuff), so between the two of us, Panama got three rides in last week.

Not a great week, but I think my Sunday night/Monday morning tax fiasco set the stage for the rest of the week.  This week is already shaping up to be much better, though!
